SOCHI 2014 LOGO IN 1920s  ФУТУРИЗМКОНСТРУКТИВИЗМ  STYLE

This picture gallery shows a non-official logo of the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games in the Russian 1920s futurist / constructivist style, which is as regards printed matters by and large characterised by experimental typography and imagery, often in red, white and black.

The Russian text "СОЧИ 2014" was placed in two copies in two different planes of a four-dimensional space, a white one and a red one. These planes intersect each other at right angles along a straight line.

One may provide our familiar three-dimensional (3D) space with a Cartesian coordinate system OXYZ and extend it to a 4D space by adding a fourth coordinate axis OU which is postulated to be perpendicular to the X, Y and Z axes and therefore to the entire OXYZ space.
The white logo is located in the XY plane; things get interesting when the red logo is not placed along with the white one in ordinary 3D space, but rather in a plane that extends into 4D space, in this gallery: the UX coordinate plane.

By rotating the white and red logos around a single fixed point at possibly different speeds and by alternately retaining and wiping afterimages one easily obtains the strangest and weirdest pictures. However, the text "СОЧИ 2014" can always be read, straight or transformed, in parallel or in perspective projection, vaguely or clearly.
